OZONE THERAPY
What is Ozone?
Ozone (O3) is a molecule made up of three atoms. Under normal conditions oxygen in the atmosphere is found in the form of O2, a molecule made up of two oxygen atoms. O3 has a high energy change and by expanding energy it converts to the O2 form. As ozone is a powerful oxidiser, it is an effective germ killer. For this reason it is used to disinfect drinking water and foodstuffs without leaving any chemical by-products. It can also be used to treat infected wounds.
In the atmosphere ozone is found as 5km thick colourless layer 25-30kms above the earth. The ozone layer absorbs some of the ultraviolet rays from the sun, thus protecting us from their harmful effects. It also neutralises all kinds of toxic gases enabling the continual existence of our world.
Medical Ozone
Medical ozone is a mixture of pure oxygen and pure ozone and the dosage can vary from 5-100micrograms/ml depending on where and how it is used. A doctor specialised in ozone treatment can determine the suitable dosage and method of treatment depending on the patient's condition and the medical indications.
How Medical Ozone Works
Because of its powerful oxidisation properties it kills bacteria and fungi, thus disinfecting infected wounds. Its ability to stop viruses reproducing means its effective in treating viral infections.
It increases the oxygenation of the tissues by activating the 2-3 dipshospoglycerate enzymes found in haemoglobin, in this way it facilitates the absorption of plentiful amounts of oxygen.
It increases the fluidity of the blood by breaking down the thrombosis into smaller clots. The increased oxygenation of the blood and the increased flow of the blood through the capillaries make it very effective in the treatment of ischaemic disorders (for example diabetic arterypathies.
Immune stimulation/modulation: it strengthens the immune system. It is especially effective in treating viral diseases by increasing the levels of interleukins. In hepatitis it increases the level of intrinsic interferon.
It neutralises the free radicals that are formed in the cells intrinsically but its anti-oxidant effect. The effects of free radicals on cellular metabolism are well known. They are waste products which age the cells and decrease cellular function. It is very effective in neutralising the toxins that enter the body from unhealthy food and the polluted environment.
It increases the body's ability to cure itself and our resistance to disease.
Conditions and Illness which can be effectively treated with Ozone
Anti Aging - it slows down the aging process by neutralising free radicals which cause aging.
The treatment of chronic tiredness, it effectively strengthens the body's defence mechanism and speeds up the metabolism thus removing the causes of tiredness in the body.
Geriatric use - advancing years and chronic illnesses cause a reduction in bodily functions. Ozone revitalises the body by renewing cells and tissues and strengthening the immune system. It is used to revitalise bodily functions in the elderly.
It increases micro-circulation which is damaged by diabetes resulting in burning sensations, pain and numbness in the hands and feet and tiredness. By decreasing the resistance to insulin it effectively lowers the blood sugar.
It is used to treat wounds that do not heal.
It is used effectively to treat erective dysfunction caused by microcirculation disorders.
Asthma patients - it is an effective immune modulator in the treatment of asthma caused by allergies.
It is very effective in treating dizziness related to the inner ear (Meniere's Disease) and tinnitus.
Effective in treating immune system disorders and many allergy related disorders.
For Example
Rheumatic joint disorders
Behcet Disease
Parkinson's Disease
Scleroderma
Multiple Sclerosis
Polyneuropathy
Psoriasis
